Science Over Fear: Is Genetic Modification Safe for Nigeria?
The term “Genetic Modification” often sparks debate, but in public health, it is a precision tool. The Malaria Project utilizes Genetic Attenuation, a process that has been safely implemented in pilot programs in California, Hawaii, and Brazil with zero recorded negative impacts on human health.
Our protocol is “Self-Limiting.” We release only non-biting male mosquitoes. Since males do not consume blood, they cannot transmit genes or parasites to humans. This isn’t about changing the ecosystem; it’s about “software updates” for the mosquito population—making them incapable of hosting the Plasmodium parasite.
